Back in mid-2021, I predicted the Ukraine war and the current fifth Middle East war with all the resulting problems, such as the propaganda tsunami against Israel and the growing anti-Semitism even in the USA. In the few months since October 7th, there has been far more reporting about the humanitarian situation of the people in the Gaza Strip than about the human suffering in the Ukrainian combat zones during roughly two years of war. The 150 to 200 soldiers who die there every day also attract little attention.
Since its founding in 1948, Israel has been subjected to false accusations and unfair resolutions by the United Nations. With this partiality and discrimination, the world organization is demonstrably violating its own charter principles and counteracting its peacemaking mission. In 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973, Israel was able to defend itself on its very own against a numeric Arab superiority - and thanks to its excellent army, averted a genocide, because the Arab motto was and still is to this day, to "throw the Jews into the sea".
The Israeli counter offensive in Gaza in retaliation for the October 7 Hamas attack is highly rectified - but doesn’t lead to the solution. As a phenome with psychological roots, terrorism cannot be ended by military means alone.
The magnitude of the number of victims in the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 tempts people to react with similar wrong decisions as after the New York attack on September 11, 2001. Terrorism as an expression of bitter rebellion should not be confused with regular war which can be ended by using military means.
